CVC Year Round Event - Olympia Historic Eastside and Mission Creek Park Walk Event: Olympia Historic Eastside and Mission Creek Park Walk ESVA Challenges: Frontline Heroes, 39 Counties Second Edition (Thurston) AVA Special Programs: Walking the United States – Capitals AVA Sanction#/Distance/Rating: 125566 - 2024 / Y2576 - 10K with 6K option, rated 2B Description: The walk passes through the historic Bigelow neighborhood, the oldest neighborhood in Olympia, founded in 1851. It also passes through Mission Creek park, by the popular San Francisco Street Bakery and down a hidden pedestrian passage way.
Start/Finish Times: January 2 - December 31 - 8:00 AM to Dusk. Bayview Thriftway is closed on Christmas. Accessibility/Amenities: Difficult for strollers, not possible for wheelchairs. Pets are allowed. Restrooms are at the start point and in various locations en route. Registration: This event has both an Online Start Box (OSB) and a Physical Start Box (PSB). You may register using either of these, but please complete the walk using the same method used to register to receive proper credit. To register using the OSB, go to AVA Login and follow the prompts. To register using the PSB, follow the directions below: Start/End Location: Bayview Thriftway Deli at 516 W 4th Ave., Olympia (lots of food choices, plus a local coffee bar) Driving Directions: From I-5, take Exit # 105B, Port of Olympia. Southbound merges onto Plum St. Northbound turns left onto Plum St. Continue several blocks on Plum St., then turn left onto State Street. Follow State St. to the waterfront, where it turns left; take the first right onto 4th Avenue. Bayview Thriftway is on the right, just before the Fourth Avenue Bridge.
