Description: Walk through south Olympia and north Tumwater neighborhoods visiting a small lake with fishing access and Pioneer Park along the banks of the Deschutes River.

Start/Finish Times: Register by 9:45 AM on March 13, 2025 ONLY; walk begins at 10:00 AM.

Accessibility/Amenities: Possible but difficult for strollers, not possible for wheelchairs. Pets are allowed. Restrooms are at the start point and at occasional points along the route.

Registration: The registration point is outside the entrance to Briggs Community YMCA, 1530 Yelm Hwy SE, Olympia WA, on the nirth side of the building.

Driving directions: From I-5 southbound, take the first Olympia exit (Exit 105 - Plum Street/Downtown). Take the first left onto Henderson Blvd. From I-5 northbound, take Exit 105 (Henderson Blvd./South Olympia) and keep right toward a roundabout. At the roundabout, turn left onto Henderson Blvd. In either case, continue on Henderson Blvd. about 3 miles through Watershed Park and suburban neighborhoods. Observe the speed limit CAREFULLY, which in most places is 25 mph. Continue straight ahead through several roundabouts to Yelm Highway SE. Turn right onto Yelm Highway SE passing Briggs YMCA, then take the next right and park somewhere near the front of Briggs YMCA.
