CVC Special Event CVC Olympia Holiday Walk - Saturday, December 14, 2024 Event: CVC Olympia Holiday Walk. Sponsors and Dates: The Capitol Volkssport Club invites everyone to join them at the Harbor House at 217 Thurston Avenue NW in Olympia on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Cost: IVV Credit only is $3.00. All walkers must register. There is no need to pre-register. Guests are welcome to join us, and donations to support activities such as this are appreciated. AVA Sanction#/Distances: 127971 - 2024. Walkers may chose either a 5K or 10K walk, both rated 2B. AVA Challenges: Will be listed at the start point. ESVA Challenges: Will be listed at the start point. Starting Point: Start at the Harbor House, 217 Thurston Avenue NW in Olympia on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Free parking is available on adjacent streets on Saturday. Description: Walk on streets and boardwalks (some uneven) and well groomed trails along the waterfront, through the Capitol Campus, Olympia neighborhoods, and the Farmers Market. Please note: This is a mapped walk. Maps and directions will be provided. There are no trail markers or ribbons on the route. Driving Directions: From I-5 Northbound: Take Exit 105, then follow signs to State Capitol Campus. From I-5 Southbound: Take Exit 105A (State Capitol Campus), then follow signs to State Capitol Campus. In both cases, continue straight ahead through the roundabout, then enter the tunnel. After exiting the tunnel, turn right onto Capitol Way South, then continue about 15 blocks straight ahead to Thurston Avenue NW. Turn left onto Thurston Avenue NW. The Harbor House is one block straight ahead at the end of the street. The start point is inside the Harbor House. Start/Finish Times: Walkers may begin walking anytime between 10 AM and noon, and must be finished by 3 PM. Facilities/Pets: Restrooms will be available at the start point, inside the Capitol Building, and at the Farmers Market. Pets are permitted but NOT in buildings, or within the Farmers Market, although they can walk around the outside of it. Owners must observe leash and clean up laws. Accessibility: The walk may be difficult for strollers and is not suitable for wheelchairs, as there are some stairs and sidewalks can be uneven.
