Description: Walk on paved walkways and along the ocean beach, watch surfers, see fishing boats in the marina (fresh fish can be purchased right off the boat) and people fishing or crabbing on the public docks, or shop in the quaint shops of this fishing town. Also on view are the ocean and the "tallest lighthouse in Washington". All but 1K of the trail is paved, and walkers have the option of walking the beach for major parts of the 11K. On a clear day, you can see the Olympics and Mt. Rainier in the distance.
Start/End Location: Start at Shop & Kart Grocery, 108 S Montesano St. Westport, WA (360) 268-7687.
Driving Directions: Take Exit 104 from I-5 at Olympia (both Northbound and Southbound). Follow Ocean Beaches signs to Aberdeen. The highway name will change from US 101 N., to WA 8, to US 12 W (at Elma). In Aberdeen, stay in left lane, turning left after Rite Aid and crossing the big bridge. Follow signs to Westport via WA 105. In 18 miles make a slight right onto S. Montesano St. and stay on this to the Shop & Kart Grocery.
Start/Finish Times: Daily - Dawn to Dusk.
Accessability/Amenities: Medium difficulty for strollers and wheelchairs on the 6K an 9K only, not possible on the longer routes. Pets are allowed. Restrooms are at the start point and at various points en route.
