Description: Drive 1.4 miles from start point to trail head. Driving directions printed on bike directions. In the late 1800's the Northern Pacific Railway used the line as a spur for logging, but abandoned the route in 1990. State Parks acquired the railroad right-of-way for use as a trail in 1993. Beginning in urban Chehalis, the paved trail heads west through the farmlands of Adna. You will see horses, sheep, and cows grazing in the fields and may share the trail with walkers, as well as equestrians. Restored bridges take travelers over rivers and streams before the trail enters the cool, forested Willapa Hills. At about mile 6 pavement turns to compacted gravel. Bike helmets required.
